Pocean Surf Academy is owned by POCEANSURF, Lda. It is located in Ribeira D’Ilhas Beach, 2 km north of the town of Ericeira (a short trip from Lisbon). A traditional town of fishermen, Ericeira is located on the Atlantic coast of Portugal. Ribeira D’Ilhas beach is internationally recognized as one of the best Surf spots in Europe and is located in an area that has been formally approved as a World Surfing Reserve (WSR) by the organization Save the Waves. Ericeira is the ONLY approved world surfing reserve in Europe, with only two other WSR in the whole world.

This being, our surf school – POCEAN SURF ACADEMY – is located a 30-minute drive (approx.) from Lisbon, in one of the best beaches in Europe for surfing. Regarded by many as a “Surfing Mecca”, it has perfect waves and the ideal conditions to learn, regardless of your level of surfing.
If you think of yourself as an adventurer, there are plenty of good surfing spots to explore near the beach where the school is located, such as: Pedra Branca, Reef, Cave, Crazy Left and Coxos.

Our school guarantees quality teaching in every level of surfing, while paying special attention to safety rules. Every day, our surf instructors (accredited by the Portuguese Surfing Federation), plan the lessons by taking the weather conditions into consideration.

It is very easy to spot our school once you’re on the beach. You just have to spot the vans in the parking lot with our logo (POCEAN SURF ACADEMY) and brand.

Mission

Ericeira Blue Ocean

Surf School is located inside of the Ericeira Camping Park , between Ribeira d’Ilhas Beach and Ericeira village.

Nestling on the Atlantic coast a short drive north of Lisbon, Ericeira is a traditional fishing village and Portugal’s surfing Mecca, internationally renowned as one of the best surfing spots in Europe,and the second surfing world reserve.

Since 1985 it has played host to the ASP (WQS) world championship. Two minutes away from the centre of Ericeira and next to the beach, features several wooden bungalows, a camping area as well as a range of leisure activities. The facilities are situated in front of a beach break Matadouro with perfect waves for all levels, and a short distance from several of Portugal’s best surfing breaks, such as Coxos,Crazy Left,Ribeira Dilhas,Pedra Preta, Pontinha, Pedra Branca and Reef.

The school guarantees quality teaching with special attention to safety. The surf lessons will be planned daily by the surf monitors, taking into consideration the surf level of participants and weather conditions. Qualified instructors that speak Portuguese, English and Spanish. So ,come and stay with us!!!
